Prithviraj In Ashiq Abu's Next untitled film

Prithviraj can be regarded as a lucky actor as he got rare chances to work in the films of many profound directors. He has got that privilege again to play the lead role in Ashiq Abu's next untitled film. This is their first movie together. It is said that screenplay writer John Paul will manufacture this film. According to sources, Prithviraj has already heard the script and has agreed to play the role. Other cast in the film is still to be confirmed. Angadi Theru, Kadal, Ozhimuri fame Jayamohan is writing the screenplay for this film
Prithviraj is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film London Bridge. Andrea Jeremiah and Namitha are his heroines in it. Prithviraj plays a student in LB, who romances both ladies without their knowledge. August will see the release of Prithvi's Memories. Meghna Raj plays opposite him in this flick. Prithviraj is seen as an chronic alcoholic police officer in this film. Ashiq Abu is currently busy shooting for his Idukki Gold. Lal, Prathap Pothen, Maniyan Pilla Raju, Raveendran and Babu Anthony are playing the lead roles in it. The movie is based on Santhosh Echikkanam's short story which has the same title. He has also signed projects with Mammootty (Gangster) and Mohanlal (Kodungattu).

Who Wants Some Action From Shahid Kapoor?

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is excited about the action sequences in his upcoming movies Phata Poster Nikla Hero and Rambo Rajkumar. The actor also clarifies that there is no south Indian connection to it and urges not to give it such a tag. "There is no southern connection as such. I think we should end saying this southern thing because today almost all second film has that friendly of action and people seem to be really liking it. The entire country responds to that," said Shahid.
This type of film with action is first of its kinds of the 31-year-old. "If people enjoy it in the film, I will be glad because it is for the first time I am doing this friendly of action. There is more coming in Rambo Rajkumar. So both the films will have a lot of action and I am excited," he said. At the wrap-up part of Phata Poster Nikla Hero, Shahid reveals that the lead actress Ileana D'Cruz will also be doing a few stunts. "She was very nervous when we were doing stunts because she says her skin is sensitive and it gets bruised easily. She was very paranoid about that," said the chocolate boy. "But we did a few rehearsals. Ileana was a tiny uncomfortable and we tried our best to make her comfortable," he added. Phata Poster Nikla Hero is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The movie will hit the theatres on August 23 this year. In the movie, Shahid Kapoor is seen playing the role of Vishwas Rao, who is an aspiring actor. Rambo Rajkumar is an action film directed by Prabhu Deva and it will hit the theatres upon November 29 this year.

The movie is the remake of the Bollywood 2012 hit Kahaani starring Vidya Balan. Tamil and Telugu bilingual movie Anamika will be hitting silver screens for Diwali. Uthara Unni was in news recently. She was said to be a part of Team Solar. The actress has now commented that she has become more well-known through the solar scam issue. "I was never popular to this extent for my films. Though for a different reason, I am happy that people have arrive to know about me," says the actress in an interview. Uthara Unni had stated that she was the brand ambassador for the Team Solar in her Facebook page. This led for an enquiry against the actress. Later, it was even rumoured that Uthara Unni has travelled along with the solar scam accused Saritha S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan twice. It was said that she has accepted money from them. Uthara Unni said that she was involved in a photoshoot for the Team Solar.

Serious charges against Manju

A Malayalam film magazine seems to have started a despise campaign against actor Manju Warrier. In the latest issue, the magazine has written about what really went incorrect with the Dileep-Manju relationship.
According to the magazine, Manju Warrier never wanted to be a mother. When she became pregnant again after the birth of daughter Meenakshi, Manju went for an abortion without Dileeps knowledge!

It is a huge ticket film for the girl from Kochi, as she is paired opposite the hot n happening Dhanush.  As competition is upon an overdrive in Kollywood, Amala is certain upon the right track.

Jayasurya in a trap

Jayasurya was in the news recently when he, with a group of friends, filled the big potholes in some of the roads in Kochi with stones.
His action had happened late in the night when the city was silent and many youngsters were inspired by this and had come forward to help him in closing the potholes.
Now, Kochi Mayor Toni Chammini has criticized Jayasurya's action as a publicity stunt. The Mayor has made his stance determined by saying that though he appreciates Jayasurya's social commitment; his efforts could backfire if the maintenance of the roads is not done in a scientific way. The TV channels have started debates on who is right in this issue.
Meanwhile director B Unnikrishnan came up with wholehearted retain for Jayasurya in his Facebook page saying that what Jayasurya did the other day was an act of symbolic protest. The Cochin Mayor's response to it shows how unimaginative and insensitive most of our political leadership are.

Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty released on August 9

Mammootty has confirmed through his social media updates that his Ranjith directed Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty  will release on August 9.
Earlier the rumour mills were working overtime that the film had been postponed to August 15 for the Independence Day weekend.
Mammootty wanted to give way to his son Dulquer Salmaans Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvana Bhoomi which has confirmed August 9 release.
Now it looks like there will be a clash on August 9 between dad and son in Kerala theatres. The race has begun for screens and better theatres.   .

Dulquer launches NPCB audio

Dulquer Salmaan is celebrating his birthday  today (July 28). On his birthday the fastest rising star will be in Kochi for the audio launch of his road movie Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (NPCB).
The NPCB audio launch will take place at IMA Hall with hundreds of Royal Enfield bikes and performance by the band PATHAYAM. The film produced and directed by Sameer Thahir features Dulquer Salmaan, Dhritiman Chatterjee and Sunny Wayne in the lead roles.
NPCB has been extensively shot on the roads in the north-eastern state of Nagaland and six other states like Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal and Sikkim.
NPCB is the huge Ramzan release in 70 screens in Kerala on August 9.

Nargis Fakhri, who has been linked to actor-filmmaker Uday Chopra, says she is not seeing anyone.I am single and not ready to mingle. I am only here to work. I have a goal and I desire to concentrate on that. Your career keeps you so busy, there is no time, added Nargis, who was seen in 2011 musical-romantic hit Rockstar as Ranbir Kapoors upon-screen love interest.

`Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal` is almost complete

Udhayanidhi Stalin and his director SR Prabhakaran has completed 75% of the shoot of their Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal (IKK), starring Udhayanidhi, Santhanam and Nayanthara.
SR Prabhakaran, after the success of Sundarapandian says, IKK is a family entertainer laced with comedy.
The film has another 15 days of shoot and post-production work to be completed. IKK has music by Harris Jayaraj and is being planned for early release through Red Giants.

Dhanush’s 30th b’day in London

ts been a  good year for Dhanush, after his debut film in Hindi Raanjhanaa grossed 100 crore, his Tamil release Maryan getting vital acclaim and he bagged two filmfare awards.
Dhanush whose birthday falls on July 28 will be celebrating the day in London with his best friends- actors Sivakarthikeyan, Satish and music director Anirudh. The all-boys gang plot to paint the town red upon Sunday.

'Kalimannu' censored

Blessys controversial Kalimannu starring Swetha Menon has been censored on Tuesday (July 23) and cleared with an UA certificate.
The film which was earlier scheduled to be a Ramzan release has now been pushed to August 23, due to non-availability of screens.
Kalimannu is inspired by the puranic story of Abhimanyu and his mother Subhadra, the film portrays the relationship of the protagonist with her baby, before and after it is born.
Remember the controversy surrounding the Blessy film when  Swetha Menon's genuine life delivery was shot live on camera, for the film. The delivery filming caused a "culture shock" in Kerala.
Blessy told :  I dont understand the controversy which is media made. There is nothing objectionable or controversial in the film. The trailer and song were well received and censors loved the film. Let the public judge for itself when the film releases on August 23.

No satellite rights, Mollywood facing a crisis

There are not many film industries, which are so dependent upon satellite rights, like Malayalam.
With almost the entire budget of the film being offered as satellite rights (that is the amount given by the TV channels), anyone who had seen a camera or at least a couple of movies venture out to become a filmmaker.
The result is that from an average number of 100 releases per year, 2013 saw films raining in a rather amazing way. Almost 85 Malayalam films got released until June this year.
Most of them were beautiful ordinary films, which did atrocious business at the theatres but were made eyeing the channel right buyers. More than 30 new directors made their debut until June this year. The numbers of projects, which are progressing and had to be stopped midway, are indeed shocking.
Now the TV channels have put their foot down and have come up with some conditions to buy films. With enough to pick from, they are insisting on quality projects. Now, the films with some of the popular stars like Mammootty, Mohanlal,
Dileep and Prithviraj have demand yet, but the rest of the films are being bought on merit.
The unprecedented move from the TV channels has resulted in a huge crisis in Mollywood, with several projects, made with the idea of recovering the investments mainly from the satellite rights not finding any takers.

Sameer Thahir who made his debut as a director with the sleeper hit Chappa Kurishu, is back with Neelakasham Pachakkadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Wayne in the lead.

It is about a motorcycle adventure to Nagaland. This film is produced under the banner of Happy Hours Entertainments. The story and screenplay is by Hashir Mohamed. The cinematographer is Girish Gangadharan and the music director is Rex Vijayan.

Shahrukh Khan’s Baby Arrived At Mannat

The whole world is on a tenterhook trying to unravel the mystery of Shahrukh Khans surrogate child but if reports are to be believed the Badshah Khan is very much having a ball playing with his child already enconsed in his house at Mannat.
As per media reports, BMC executive health officer-Dr Arun Bamne said, The child was born at 34 weeks of pregnancy and weighed 1.5 kg at birth. We have received from Masrani Nursing Home a birth report, which has to be mandatory filed by nursing homes and hospitals to register all birth in the city.
It seems the baby guy was born upon May 27,  according to BMC  they have received a birth report about the birth of a baby, with Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan listed as his parents at Masrani Hospital in Andheri from where it was shifted to Nanavati and then to Breach Candy but at the moment he is very much under the roof of his parents.

Dhanush, The Box Office King

Dhanush starrer Mariyaan which released on July 19, has started looting the Box Office. The latest buzz says that Dhanush's Bollywood debut Raanjhanaa, which released on June 21 is still active in Box Office collection. Raanjhanaa is a romantic flick starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, directed by Anand L Rai. Reportedly it is said that the movie has crossed 100 crore, worldwide in the Box Office.
With the two back to back hits of Mariyaan and Raanjhanaa, National award winning actor Dhanush has emerged as Box Office king of the year. With the success of Raanjhanaa, Dhanush has joined the 100 crore club in Bollywood. To celebrate the success of the movie, Raanjhanaa team is having a grand event in Mumbai today (July 24). After winning Best Actor title in Idea South Filmfare Awards and Mariyaan's success, its Dhanush event again. Raanjhanaa deals with the story of Muslim girl falling in love with a Hindu Boy, the movie also features Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar and Zeeshan Ayub in the guide roles.

Superstars Ajith-Vijay Don Khaki

After the success of Singam 2, Kollywood is all set to get two police movies in the coming days. Latest buzz says that, Thala Ajith and Ilayathalapathy Vijay are set to don Khakis in their forthcoming flicks. Sources said that, Ajith will be playing a cop in his upcoming movie directed by Vishnuvardhan, and Vijay is also playing a police officer in Jilla, directed by Nesan. However, the movie makers of both the flicks haven't revealed anything about the plan, but honorable sources confirmed the police connection in these two films. A source near to Ajith says, "Yes, Thala will be playing a cop in the upcoming flick directed by Vishnuvardhan, but it will not be portrayed throughout the film. Ajith will be seen in a cop character in some scenes and will take the story forward." Recently on sets of Jilla, a scene resembling a felicitation function, involving several junior artists in police uniform, was shot in Chennai. Sources near to Vijay says, "Jilla has a police element and Vijay is shooting for the scenes that are featuring him as a cop." Ajith had played a cop role in Anjaneya and Mankatha, whereas Vijay was seen in Khaki in his Blockbuster hit Pokkiri.

Nazriya joins for a degree

Amidst her growing popularity, actress Nazriya has found time to continue with her studies . She has enrolled for B Com in Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram which is also  her house town.

The TV anchor turned actress Nazriya who has found unprecedented success with Tamil and Malayalam version of 'Neram', is currently in Chennai shooting for Dhanush's Naiyandi. Naazriya 's other Tamil projects include' Raja Rani' and 'Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah'. Her next project in Malayalam is 'Salala Mobile' for which he will pair with Dulqar Salman.

Ramzan Rush Hour in malayalam

Ramzan is the second biggest festival release day for Malayalam films and this year it is going to be the biggest ever battle in history.

Normally there will be one or two Malayalam films, but this year at the last count there are four confirmed releases and one in the waiting list

The four films which have confirmed their release date on August 9- Ramzan day are - Mammootty’s Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty (KKOM), Prithviraj’s Memories,Dulquer Salmaan’s  Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (NPCB) and Kunchacko Boban’s Pulipuliyum Attinkuttiyum.  In addition to all these films’ Blessy’sKalimannu is trying to get a release date and has been put on the waiting list by theatres in Kerala. 

There are no dates available in Kerala screens as in addition to four Malayalam releases there are two other biggies in other languages releasing. biggest of the lot is Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thalaivaa in Tamil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express in Hindi, both slated for August 9 weekend.  Remember Vijay has the biggest fan base among other language heroes in Kerala.

At the last count Kerala has around 435 screens and 300 of them are releasing stations. But what is happening is that it is very difficult to get screens in small towns like Manjeri, Chalakudy or Tirur which are big collection centres. And in Malabar area from where 40% of collections come, there are very few screens compared to Cochin-Travancore areas.

Meanwhile all the four Malayalam films getting ready for Ramzan are in post-production stage. All of them will get censored in the first week of August, as they are slotted for August 9 release

Memories` gets ready

Jeethu Josephs Memories with Prithviraj in the lead will hit the screens upon August 8. The shooting of the film is complete and the director is busy with the post production work.

Though Prithviraj has essayed many roles as a police officer in films like Masters, Sathyam, Mumbai Police and the Hindi flick Aurangazeb, the role of IPS officer Sam Alex is very different. He lives in his memories, some of which are pleasant and the others, haunting which showcases a very different perspective - that of the varied shades of the man within the uniform.

The cast includes Meghna Raj, Miya, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Madhupal, Vanitha, Rahul Madhav and Sreejith Ravi. Memories is produced by P.K. Muralidharan and Shantha Murali under the banner of Anantha Vision. Cinematographer is Sujith Vasudev and music director is Sejo John.

'100 Degree Celsius' gets ready for final stage

Touted to be Mollywood's first two-part movie 100 Degree Celsius reportedly wrapped up filming in Ernakulam. The women-centric film, directed by Rakesh Gopan features Bhamaa, Ananya, Shweta Menon, Meghana Raj and Haritha in the lead.Sources film's main locations were in Ernakulam and there was a one-day shoot in Perumathura, Trivandrum, where the crew had filmed a scene with Shweta Menon.She was seen jumping off a bridge into the sea, according to the director. Apart from female stars, Pratap Pothen and Sethu essay key characters.

Biju Menon Out From Onnum Mindathe

Biju Menon played the central character in Ordinary and Three Dots. Both movies were directed by Sugeeth. Biju was even acclaimed for being one of the factor for the success of Ordinary. It was said that Biju Menon will be the lead in Sugeeth's next titled Onnum Mindathe. But now he has been replaced by Jayaram. Giving an explanation to this, Sugeeth said that Biju Menon had date clashes. So he was avoided in the film. Moreover, he has not worked with Jayaram ever since he is into the industry. So Biju got replaced by Jayaram.
Kavya Madhavan is said to be the heroine in Onnum Mindathe. The other cast in the film is still to be decided. Onnum Mindathe revolves around the family of an agricultural officer and his wife. A very glad living family suddenly face an unexpected happening, that brings drastic changes to their life. Rajesh Raghav, who scripted Three Dots, has written the screenplay for Onnum Mindathe. The film is expected to go on floors by October.

Fahad and Rima in film fare

The film fare awards for Malayalam has just kept in close connection with the tastes of the new generation films and viewers with almost all among them shared between two new generation movies.
Aashiq Abu's movie '22 Female Kottayam' shared the awards for acting honours, including that for Fahad Fazil and Rima Kallingal. LalJose's 'Ayaalum Njaanum Thammil' was named the best movie in Malayalam. Laljose was also named the best director of the year for the movie. Interestingly both these films were hits in 2012,and  invited a lot of discussions.

Shahrukh Khan, Honey Singh's Tribute To Rajinikanth

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan confirmed his collaboration with rapper Honey Singh for the song "Thalaivar Tribute (Lungi Dance)", and clarified that it was not part of his forthcoming film Chennai Express. The song is a tribute to legendary actor Rajinikanth.   Honey Singh and T-Series chairman Bhushan Kumar had approached Shah Rukh five days back with a song dedicated to veteran actor Rajnikanth, who is given the title Thalaivar (supreme leader) by his fans. Confirming this, Shah Rukh told IANS: "Who isn't a fan of 'The Rajinikanth'? I had met Honey Singh and Bhushan Kumar five days back and he made me hear the song, which is titled 'Thalaivar Tribute (Lungi Dance)'. "I found it very apt for Rajini sir and wanted to be a part of it as a fan of one of the greatest actors we have." King Khan also agreed to be a part of the dedication because its theme is very close to Chennai Express. Composed, written and sung by Honey Singh, the song was choreographed by veteran choreographer Chinni Prakash.

Born on July 22, Aashish started his entertainment career with a TV show called Humko Ishq Ne Maara. The actor is best known for playing one of the goofy friends in the Dhamaal series. B-town celebs have been wishing him on microblogging site Twitter – Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, Sophie Choudry to name a few.

The actor is still trying to make it in the big bad town of glamour and entertainment. The actor seems to be extremely comfortable with humour. His character in Dhamaal is evidence enough that he is quite a pro in tickling people’s funny bones. What happened to Sanjay Dutt in Yerawada jail

The Munnabhai actor felt uneasy on Saturday (July 20), after which a team of doctors rushed to Yerawada prison. Jail authorities say the actor is absolutely fine

Sanjay Dutt, who’s serving his three-and-a-half year sentence in Pune’s Yerawada jail in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case, complained of high blood pressure on Saturday morning, following which a team of doctors from the city’s Sassoon Hospital visited him.

Jail superintendent Yogesh Desai of Yerwada jail confirmed the actor’s health check to a newspaper. “Yes, Dutt’s health check-up was conducted, but it was a routine one.Sanjay is absolutely fine and there’s nothing to worry.” He added that the actor had not complained about his health. “Dutt did not suffer from high blood pressure, but his BP was checked during the tests,” he explained.

After Sanju baba surrendered on May 16, he was allowed home cooked food and a table fan among other privileges at the Yerawada jail. But these were soon taken away, after the jail authorities objected to special treatment. The Policegiri actor had no option but start abiding by the laws, just like any other prisoner, and start eating meals prepared in prison. The 53-year-old actor has served two months of his sentence but still has a long time left before he can come out of the ordeal. May God give him strength and bless him with good health!

Salman Khan to play a double role in Bigg Boss 7 ???..

Salman Khan’s screen presence is explosive. The superstar sets the screen on fire with his bindaas personality and unmatchable charm. And now it’s going to be a double whammy for Sallu fans – the 48-year-old actor will play a double role as host for the promos of Bigg Boss 7.

Before this,salman played a double role in the 1997 comedy flick Judwaa. Fans thronged the theatres to watch the two different Salmans in the movie – one of an out-and-out tapori and the other, a suave, sophisticated and shy urbane dude. Sixteen years on, Salman will once again play two diametrically opposite characters, this time for the small screen. In the promo of the show he will host once more, one character is an angel, all white and gold, while the other is a street-smart devil, black of heart and blacker of costume.

Recently Salman’s good friend Govinda did a double role – a bihari babu and a street smart thug – for a hilarious promo when he appeared on Star Plus’s dance reality show Nach Baliye as a guest judge. And now Sallu will try to outdo Govinda with his upcoming clip. Salman will soon start shooting for the seventh reason of the reality show that will go on air in September. We can’t wait to watch the two entertaining versions of apna Sallu!
